About Me

I am a Counselling Therapist and a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto.

I grew up in South Africa, where I was immersed in a culturally diverse and complex environment. This shaped how I understand people – not as problems to be solved, but as individuals whose stories, identities, and life experiences deeply matter. Through my volunteer work in neurology wards in public hospitals in Cape Town, I supported individuals and families navigating difficult and often overwhelming moments. These experiences strengthened my appreciation for how differently people cope, and how important it is to feel seen, heard, and understood during times of vulnerability. I bring this perspective into my work by taking the time to understand your unique story and the factors that have shaped you.

What is it actually like to sit in a session with me?

In our sessions, you can expect a space where you feel genuinely heard and not rushed. I listen closely to your experiences and how you’ve come to understand your life and the challenges you’re facing. While you are the expert on your own life, you don’t have to figure things out on your own here. I work collaboratively with you, offering reflections, gentle guidance, and thoughtful questions to help you gain clarity and explore new ways of understanding yourself. Together, we move at a pace that feels right for you, with the goal of helping you feel more grounded, supported, and better able to navigate what you are going through.
